Is Today A Holy Day? If Yes, Get To Mass! Here are the Holy Days for 2027.
Note: Every Sunday is a HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION!

What Are The Usual Holy Days?
The Holy Days of Obligation within the universal Catholic Church are the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Epiphany, the Ascension, the Body and Blood of Christ, Holy Mary the Mother of God, her Immaculate Conception, her Assumption, Saint Joseph, Saint Peter and Saint Paul the Apostles, and All Saints.
In addition to Sunday, the days to be observed as holy days of obligation in the Latin Rite dioceses of the United States of America, in conformity with canon 1246, are as follows:
January 1, the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
Thursday of the Sixth Week of Easter, the solemnity of the Ascension
August 15, the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
November 1, the solemnity of All Saints
December 8, the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
December 25, the solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ— USCCB
What’s Going On With The Feast Of The Ascension? Is it May 6 or May 9?
In the United States, the bishops, with the prior approval of the Apostolic See, have suppressed some of the holy days of obligation or transferred them to a Sunday. For 2027, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord in most U.S. dioceses (except Boston, Hartford, New York, Omaha, and Philadelphia) is transferred to Sunday, May 9.
Why Isn’t All Saints’ Day A Holy Day in 2027?
“Whenever January 1, the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, or August 15, the solemnity of the Assumption, or November 1, the solemnity of All Saints, falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.” — USCCB
