Pope Francis Tells Youth “Never let go of Jesus’ hand.”

by Evangelization, Family, Pope Francis, World Youth Day

Go big or go home? We all dream of going big. As Christian youth, we dream of someday becoming saints and staying close to God for the rest of our eternity. It sounds great, but do you think about how many times we get sidetracked and fall because of our sins?

Let’s be realistic; we are all humans; we sin, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to become saints. Indeed, “The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more.” – Romans 5:20. That is an awesome promise that God has for us and it shows us that God loves us more than our sins. God is overflowing with infinite love for each and every one of us.

We all know that we cannot become saints and achieve our salvation on our own. Instead, God has called us to share that love and live in communion.

“Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Pope Francis’ Homily To Youth

Now it is time to ask ourselves:  What are we doing for our brothers and sisters, friends and parents, when we see them separate themselves from God?

When Pope Francis visited  Mexico and spoke to the youth, he gave us his recipe for evangelizing with mercy!

You’re not there to “Preach It”, Just Listen

We all want to share the love of God. When you discover a treasure, you do not want to keep it for yourself; you want to share it. However, it is good to renew and reevaluate our love while wanting to evangelize and spread the word of God. For this Jesus has good advice for us: “Be wise like serpents but as humble as doves.

Finally, I would like to share one of the most important and inspiring phrases Pope Francis shared with us during the audience: “In the art of climbing upwards, the triumph is not in not falling but rather in not staying down on the ground”.

When I ask myself where the Mass is in the Bible, my mind goes to Luke’s Gospel, Chapter 24. On Easter Sunday, three days after Jesus instituted the Eucharist at the Last Supper, and before He appeared to the eleven, Jesus walked beside two disciples on the road to...
