What Was Said At The National Catholic Prayer Breakfast In Washington, DC?

by Evangelization, Faith & Life, World's View

Jeff Cavins, Catholic Bible evangelist, and Most Reverend Steven J. Lopes the Bishop of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter had the opportunity to share some words of wisdom at the 2021 National Catholic Prayer Breakfast (NCPB) that was held on September 14 in Washington, DC. This event began in 2004 in response to Saint John Paul II’s call for a New Evangelization and has continued to gather thousands of people to pray for our nation. Be inspired by the message that both speakers shared at this year’s NCPB.

Jeff Cavins | National Prayer Breakfast Quotes

“So, how are we going to change the world? I truly believe with all of my heart that we can only change the world through changed people. And changed people are changed because they heard the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.”

“I want to encourage you to integrate the Gospel message into your life, because it’s the only message that cuts through all of the darkness, cuts through all of the politics and everything else, and gets to the heart of an individual.”

“If we’re going to change America, I truly believe that we have to live as disciples, as ‘activated disciples.’ Disciples are people who have been chosen by Jesus. … [we have been chosen to take on His] worldview… And that’s what we’re doing here at this breakfast: we’re celebrating the worldview of Jesus.”

Most Reverend Steven J. Lopes | National Prayer Breakfast Quotes

“For Catholics, the Gospel demands conversion.”

“Unity is from God, not ultimately from me.”

“Regardless of what the pundits say, the truth of the intrinsic and the inviolable dignity of the human person is not divisive. It is the foundation of all other rights.”

“Our fundamental reverence for the sanctity of human life does not begin at birth, but nor does it end at the border. That’s what it means to be Catholic.”
