By now, you’ve likely seen all of the news stories reporting on the controversial words of Pope Francis in the newly released documentary Francesco.

Here’s what the Catholic Church 100% agrees with.

“Homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family. They’re children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out, or be made miserable because of it.” – Pope Francis in Francesco

What Pope Francis said after that is where the teachings of the Catholic Church differ from the Pope’s opinion.

“What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered.”  – Pope Francis in Francesco
