In June Catholics celebrate the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

You may have seen various depictions of the image that was given by Our Lord to Sister Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1675. Did you know that you can have an image enthroned in your home? Do you have a special devotion to His Sacred Heart? As it has been said, the Sacred Heart of Jesus beats to this very day in the Holy Eucharist, a beating Heart of infinite and perfect love for each of us.

Today, we present a thorough and helpful infographic on both of these sacred images and their histories as devotions. We hope you’ll use them in your Catechism class, RCIA, in the classroom or at home with your children.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, living and life-giving fountain of eternal life, infinite treasure of the Divinity, and glowing furnace of love, Thou art my refuge and my sanctuary. O adorable and glorious Savior, consume my heart with that burning fire that ever inflames Thy Heart. Pour down on my soul those graces which flow from Thy love. Let my heart be so united with Thine that our wills may be one, and mine may in all things be conformed to Thine. May Thy Will be the rule of both my desires and my actions.

St. Alphonsus Liguori
