In this episode of the Catholic Link podcast, Fr. Rob and Fr. George Elliot discussed Gnosticism and Gossip. They answer what ways the Church experiences gnosticism today. Most particularly when people gossip. The Church combatted Gnosticism in the early part of the millennia. It comes in a variety of forms and is characterized by overly complex language that is only available to a select group of people. Fr. Rob and Fr. George discuss appropriate means of correct and response. If there is a church figure who said something or done something misleading, the appropriate response is to quesion him in a humble and respectful manner in private. The appropriate response to the question is to respond in humility and gratitude. Thank you for listening to this Catholic Link podcast episode. Listen to the previous episode where Fr. Rob and Fr. George Elliot discuss mercy and gratitude in the heart of the Christian life. They reflect on a quote from Thomas Merton. Before his ordination he states that mercy and gratitude must be at the heart of the priest and of all Christians. In all of our walks of life, we must be able to show mercy to others and express our gratitude. In the Our Father, we exclaim to God that he forgive us our sins. We forgive those who trespass against us. In order to be shown mercy, we must show mercy to others.
