June Is Devoted To The Sacred Heart Of Jesus

by Evangelization, Faith & Life, Family, June

Did you know that each month has a traditional Catholic devotion associated with it? We can focus on each devotion month by month to grow in our faith and traditions. Make notes for yourself, write them in your calendar, and pray a specific prayer each day of the month to help you remember. You could use a prayer already associated with the devotion or pray a personal one.

June Catholic Feast Days

This June, we Catholics celebrate many great saints and feast days:

June 1: St. Justin

June 2: Sts. Marcellinus and Peter

June 3: The Feast of St. Charles Lwanga and Companions

June 21: Father’s Day| St. Aloysius Gonzaga

June 22: St. Thomas

June 24: The Nativity of St. John the Baptist

June 26: St. Josemaria Escriva

June 27: St. Cyril of Alexandria

June 28: St. Irenaeus

June 29: Happy Anniversary to CAST Catholic Media!

June 29: Sts. Peter and Paul

June 30: The First Martyrs of the Church of Rome

The entire month of June is devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus has a cross, flames, crown of thorns, and blood. Each of these has special meaning so that we can remember His love for us. The cross points to His sacrifice, the flames are his purifying passion, the crown of thorns reminds us of His suffering and kingship, and the blood reminds us of the side wound during His death. He spilled all of His blood for us.
