Catholic Shops That Don’t Use AI To Create Products

by Evangelization, Faith & Life, Gift Guides, Outstanding Initiatives

Catholic-Link.org is committed to publishing articles and images free from the use of AI. We believe that writing and art should come from the heart of a human soul in order to fully express the truth, beauty, and goodness of God. The Holy Spirit is the divine influencer who inspires us with the gifts to create and express ourselves. We recognize that it is becoming increasingly more difficult to know when AI is used in the creation of art and products. We want to provide you with a list of Catholic shops and artists committed to selling products made by humans, not AI. If you know of a business that should be added, please reach out. We will continue to add to the list so it can serve as a reference for Catholics who want to support other Catholics in their work and commitment to creating beautiful products.

Catholic Shops That Don’t Use AI To Create Products

Be A Heart

“AI is not inherently bad, but how we use it can be. Recently a large Catholic company started selling a puzzle that you can easily tell they took my design and put it through an AI system and it came out with a slightly scary version of what I had drawn by hand. I had come up with the design, with the help of the Holy Spirit, which always accompanies me as I work. When you take out the human element, you also take away the co-creation with the Holy Spirit, which is essential to spiritual work.” —Erica Campbell, Founder, Be A Heart

Into the Deep

“Because our catechesis often uses sacred art to teach the Truth of the Faith, we are deeply passionate about preserving and honoring the creative capacity of human artists, who are made in the image of God and given their gift to glorify Him. We are proud to partner with such artists to bring children and families soulful art that accompanies the treasury of Christian creativity through the ages.” — Olivia Spears, Founder

Just Love Prints

“Keep art human! Artificial intelligence steals from other artists and threatens our livelihoods. We will never ever use AI in the creation of our products.” — Lindsay Trezza Owner, Designer

Laus Deo Designs

“I will always make my Catholic wreaths and lanterns completely by hand with no AI because each one is crafted from my heart and with prayer. I feel that the human touch honors our Catholic tradition and creates authentic, meaningful sacramentals for my customers.” — Jen Dennis

Leanne Bowen

“I make my artwork completely AI free.  I believe making art is a beautiful expression of co-creation with God. When we have AI substituting that, we take away the beauty of God getting to participate in the beauty of what is created.” — Leanne Bowen

Letters from the Saints

Letters from the Saints includes illustrations in the children’s snail mail letters sent to members of the Saints Letter Club. The illustrations for the saints letters are all produced by hand through a cut-paper method or a type of pen and ink method. The illustrations are made by hand as part of a commitment to sharing the faith in a personal and engaging way.”

Little Rose Shop

“At The Little Rose Shop we do not use AI artwork. All art is created internally by real, human artists. Our art and products are also heavily prayed over during creation and throughout the process.  We are deeply inspired by Pope John Paul II’s Letter to Artists and Imago Dei. We are made in God’s image, and our God is creative; therefore, we have a unique ability to create beauty. This human capacity for creativity is important in our work and we will continue to produce products that rely on human-made artwork.” — Raquel Rose, Owner

Marigold Catholic Goods Co.

Meyer Market Designs

“We do not use AI in our art/content creations. I create all products in photoshop and employ 3 artists that hand draw or use drawing platforms to create our custom created images images throughout our products!” — Meyer Market Designs

Miraculous Mom

“Designing the products for Miraculous Mom (formerly Outrageous Mom) was born from a profound pilgrimage to Fátima where the Lord and His Blessed Mother captured my heart in a deeply personal way, taking my background in secular retail design work and transforming my ideas to create beautiful patterns and products that honor Our Lady and celebrate the richness of our Catholic faith. Each pattern is uniquely inspired from prayer and personal story and experience, something a machine cannot do.” — Laura, founder miraculousmom.com (formerly outrageousmom.com)

Nichole Lanthier Art

“Art should be created by a human soul.” — Nichole Lanthier Artist/Owner

Prayer Pillowcases

“Our designs are created without the use of AI.  We are committed to continuing to work with real live artists to create the portraits of Jesus, Mary and the Saints we feature on our Catholic pillowcases. We occasionally purchase royalty-free, copyright-free classic Catholic art to use in our designs, but we will not be using AI generated art for our business.” — Leane Ambrosio

Sacred Art by Tianna Williams

“Sacred art cannot and should not be AI generated—or any art, for that matter. Art is inherently human.” — Tianna Williams

Saintly Heart

I am committed to working with real human artists rather than using AI-generated artwork for my Catholic toys. I deeply value the beauty of the arts and have great admiration for the gifts and talents of artists. Supporting Catholic artists is an important part of my mission, and I believe authentic artwork brings a unique depth, creativity, and spirituality to faith-based products.

In addition to collaborating with Catholic artists, I have personally created artwork for many of my products. Art has become a meaningful part of our family life, and my son, an aspiring young artist, has expressed interest in creating artwork for the company as well. Encouraging creativity and fostering artistic gifts within the next generation is something I find especially rewarding.

As a mother, this commitment is also personal. Last year, I purchased a saint book for my daughter and later discovered that its illustrations had been created using AI. I was disappointed by the experience, as I felt the artwork lacked the sense of sacredness and truthfulness that I seek in Catholic materials for my own children. While AI has many applications, I prefer artwork created by human hands and hearts, especially when it comes to sharing the beauty of the Catholic faith with young families.

“All my books and products are designed without the use of AI. It is important that the artwork and designs are beautiful, accurate, and inspired by the Holy Spirit!” — Kate
