Should I Make My Teen Go To Catholic Mass?

Should parents make their teens go to Mass? Fr. George gives some insight on this important topic.

Teen’s Argument: It’s not cool to go to Mass.

“I don’t care if it’s not cool. Get in the car. We’re going to Church.”

Fr. George ElliotT

Teen’s Argument: Mass is boring.

The answer: More catechesis. Teach them why we love the Mass and what it is we are doing.

The answer: Talk about why your faith is important to you. Share some of your own struggles, but keep reiterating how going to Mass enhances your relationship with God.

“You live under my roof, you go to Mass on Sundays.”

– Fr. George Elliot
