How Many Old Testament Predictions About The Messiah Did Jesus Fulfill?

by Apologetics, Jesus Christ, Quizzes

When I first started growing in understanding my faith, I read a book that claimed to give concrete evidence for the existence and divinity of Christ. Not everyone needs this kind of help in his or her faith life, but for me, it made a difference. It gave my skeptical heart some “proof” to stand on.

I had never before heard of the Old Testament prophecies that had been fulfilled by Jesus, but after reading them it did not take long for me to figure out that only a Messiah could meet all of those requirements. It is surely more than a mere coincidence!

A few scholars have taken the time to figure out what it would look like mathematically for Jesus to fulfill eight of the prophecies given.  What they have found is that the likelihood that Jesus would be able to satisfy just 8 of the prophecies is 1 in 100, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000. (Take the quiz to find out how many prophecies Jesus did fulfill. Hint: It’s more than 8!)

We’ve designed a Quiz to help you learn more about what the prophets of the Old Testament predicted of the Messiah. Good luck!

As Christmas approaches many of us are thinking and talking more about the Birth of Christ. It is a good opportunity to share the Good News of these prophecies with others. It may be the boost they need to fully come to realize the power of our Savior.

If you’re looking for a more in-depth study of Christology, I recommend this article by A.J. Maas.
