Everyone Can Do This For 40 Seconds A Day Over The Next 40 Days

by Lent, Prayer

“For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20

At the beginning of Lent, we often make the mistake of trying to move the mountain before we’ve taken the time to pray to have the faith to do it. If you’re still struggling with what to give up, what to read, or what to add into your life this Lent, try this simple, yet powerful, prayer discipline.

Each day for the next 40 days set aside just 40 seconds of your time, less than a minute, to pray for a specific intention. Your prayer may be for a personal need or a family member, or maybe you feel called to intercede for the Church, an end to abortion, or world peace. Pick a worry that is on your heart and give it to God.
