by Apologetics, February, Mass

There are snowstorms headed to many parts of the United States this weekend. Are you obligated to go to Mass?

Is Bad Weather A Grave Reason To Miss Mass?

Can I Miss Mass Because Of The Snow Storm?

What To Do If You Can’t Go To Mass Because Of Bad Weather

PLAN AHEAD

IF THE WEATHER IN YOUR AREA WON’T BE BAD UNTIL LATE SATURDAY, TRY TO MAKE IT TO A SATURDAY VIGIL MASS.

FIND A WAY TO PRAY IN YOUR HOME

– WATCH MASS ON TV OR A LIVESTREAM
– READ THE READINGS
– MAKE A SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
– SPEND TIME IN PRAYER
– LISTEN TO TRADITIONAL HYMNS OR WORSHIP MUSIC

Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

Why I Joined The Choir

“To sing is to pray twice.” — Saint Augustine of Hippo As a child, I sought ways to draw closer to God beyond verbal prayer. I often tagged along with my parents who were active in our choir. I would sit near my mother, asking for extra song sheets to read and follow...
