by Faith & Life, Sacraments, Vocation

The Congregation of the Sons of Divine Providence in Poland are asking for your prayers for the newly ordained, Fr. Michael. Perhaps you’ve seen the now viral video and photos that show the ordination of Fr. Michael Los that took place in a hospital.

Just over a month ago, Fr. Micheal was diagnosed with an acute form of cancer. A graduate of the Major Seminary of Saint Luigi Orione, Michael desperately desired to receive Holy Orders and celebrate at least one Mass as a priest.

With the approval of Pope Francis, on May 24, 2019, in the oncological ward of Warsaw, the bishop of the Warsaw-Praga diocese, Marek Solarczyk , first ordained Micheal as a deacon and as a priest, as he so greatly hoped. Before those in attendance left, Fr. Michael was able to give them a blessing.

Fr. Michael’s Hospital Ordination

In 2016 when the Sons of Divine Providence meant with Pope Francis, he encouraged this order, also know as the Orionines, to live out their charism saying, “…your service to the Church will be more effective the more you apply yourselves to care for your personal closeness to Christ and to your spiritual formation. Bearing witness to the beauty of consecration, the good life of religious ‘servants of Christ and of the poor’, you will set an example to the young. Life generates life, and the holy and content religious inspires new vocations.”

The newly ordained Fr. Michael is reaching thousands with his witness of faith, truly living out the instructions that the Holy Father gave.

St. Peregrine’s Prayer For Those With Cancer

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty” and “The Wonder-Worker,” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.

For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more.

You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying)

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy. Amen.
