They Decided To Carry A Terminally Ill Baby Full Term So That Her Life Could Save Many

by Faith & Life, Family, Pro-Life, Social Justice

“You can be the most pro-life person in the world, but until you sit there and you… you hear those words and you look at your future going forward, that’s when you have got to face the reality and make your own decision.” – Royce Young

Those are the powerful words spoken by a young father, Royce Young, who has decided to support his wife, Keri Young, through a full term pregnancy that will ultimately end with the death of their child. Their unborn baby girl was diagnosed with anencephaly at her 20-week ultrasound. This is an extremely rare condition that means the baby will be born without a brain. Once she is born they will have from as little as five minutes up to thirty-six hours before she dies.

When the Young family found out this devastating news, they were forced to make a difficult choice. With strength and courage, they made the decision to carry their baby girl full term in order to donate her organs. They have named the baby Eva, which means “giver of life.” Take a moment to watch the story in the video below.

Their Baby Will Save Many Lives

The witness of joy in this video is beyond inspiring and a powerful lesson for all. The pain and trials that the Youngs are enduring will bring life to many. It is predicted that little Eva can possibly save up to 50 lives with her organs, but I predict she will save many more lives than that through the power of her parents’ incredible testimony of strength and love in the midst of suffering.

The Young Family Needs Our Prayers

As a pro-life people, let us commit to praying for the Young family. May God protect them and continue to help them grow in faith and in love. We ask the Holy Spirit to pour out peace upon them. We pray that angels would surround and encourage them in their journey. Lord, Jesus, we thank you that this family has chosen life. We pray for all those awaiting the gift of Eva’s organs. Let her life bring many to know of Your love and faithfulness.

Keri will have a C-Section on May 7th. Write it in your calendar and plan to celebrate Eva’s life that day!

“She’s going to do more in her 24 hours or whatever than maybe we’ll ever do in our lives and to be able to remember our daughter in that way is pretty powerful.”
