The Winners And Losers Both Gave God The Glory In This Year’s National Championship

by January, Testimonies

“I’m happy to see godly men come out on top.”

– Riley Leonard | University of Notre Dame Quarterback

Notre Dame didn’t win a National Championship in college football this year, but quarterback Riley Leonard still chose to use his platform to share the Gospel in his postgame interview. It’s much easier to give God the glory when you’re victorious. To praise God in the face of defeat reveals a man of true character. Listen to Leonard’s inspiring commentary beginning at 5:25 in the video below.

Riley Leonard’s Reaction Is To Give God The Glory

“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

Proverbs 27:17

Ohio State Players Respond To National Championship Win By Giving Glory To Jesus

Riley Leonard was right about his victorious opponents; they are godly men. Many chose to use their platform to share who the true victor is from the very beginning of this year’s football season when they wore “Jesus Won” shirts to fall camp and continued to give Jesus the glory all the way to the National Championship post-game interviews. Sports Spectrum, a Christian-based sports news outlet, shared the montage below of players giving thanks to God.

Join us in praying that the millions of people who heard these young men share about Jesus will be inspired in their own faith and that these athletes will continue to use the platform God has given them to bring Him the glory.
