Jim Gaffigan’s “Barely Catholic” Shares The Hard Truth

by Evangelization, Faith & Life, Family

Comedian Jim Gaffigan has a unique way of sharing his faith through his stand-up routines. In a recent video, “Barely Catholic”, he gets more than just the jokes right. How many of us have had a little conversation like this with Jesus?

“Barely Catholic”

Hard Truths?

Did you catch some of the Gospel truth in Mr. Gaffigan’s message?

Jesus loves you. He wants to have a personal relationship with you. He died for your sins. He desires to see you at Mass. He loves you even if you give Him a bunch of excuses.

Spouses, Listen up!

Another aspect of this video that I loved, “My wife made me come.” Spouses, don’t be afraid to do some gentle nudging (not nagging or yelling) to get your significant other to go to Church or confession. It’s our responsibility to help one another get to heaven. Sometimes we all need a little reminder. In the end, it really doesn’t matter why we go, Jesus will still speak into our hearts.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. – John 3:16-17
