5 Times The Franciscan Friars Of The Renewal Astounded Us With Coolness

by Apostolate, Consecrated Life

The fact that these Franciscan Friars of the Renewal aren’t trying to be cool makes the many different things they do even cooler. From basketball to cooking, these Friars have found creative ways to engage the culture and it’s working. Their YouTube videos have thousands of views and shares.

When you evangelize do you think about how to be relevant to the demographic you are serving? Let the videos that the Franciscan Friars have created inspire you to be innovative in your approach to sharing the Gospel. God has given you a gift that you can use for His glory and bring others to know Him. Consider yourself extra blessed if that gift also makes you look incredibly cool. (Joking, of course.)

An important part of the mission of the Franciscan Friars is evangelization. Here is the description found on their website, “In addition, our mission of evangelization in the Church is through preaching and teaching the Holy Gospel, and by sharing the rich treasures of our Catholic faith with all. Some expressions of this apostolate are: providing missionary centers for the poor, street evangelization, parish missions, young adult retreats, college missions, days of recollection, pilgrimages, Youth 2000 retreats, and sacramental ministry.”
