Who Can Receive God’s Mercy? (and how to receive it in just 2 easy steps!)

by Evangelization, Love and Relationships, World's View

Who can receive God’s mercy?  Who is eligible to attain this great gift?

“I have decided to announce an Extraordinary Jubilee which has at its center the mercy of God. It will be a Holy Year of Mercy. We want to live in the light of the word of the Lord: “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful” (cf. Lk 6:36). And this especially applies to confessors! So much mercy!” – Pope Francis

All are welcome to receive the mercy of God.  What is holding you back?

Did you find yourself among those who can receive God’s mercy? Of course, you did.

We can all receive His mercy.  No person is exempt from His great love. It is nearly impossible to show others this type of love, compassion, and care as Pope Francis is asking us to do this year if we have not experienced God’s mercy in our own lives.  Have you felt this type of mercy in your life?

How can we receive God’s mercy?

1.  “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7

If you want to receive God’s mercy, first ask for it in prayer.  If this is something your heart desires, seek it out.  Find it and look for areas in your life where God wants to bestow this gift upon you.  Keep knocking at God’s door and it will be opened to you.

2. “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” – Acts 2:38

The next step is to repent of your sin and wrongdoing.  Sin separates us from God.  If you want your relationship with Him to be restored, you must seek forgiveness for your disobedience to His plan.  If you are Catholic, go to Confession.  Non-Catholics can find a priest to pray with and guide you through this important step in receiving all that God wants to lavish upon you.

Prepare yourself to receive the fullness of  God’s love and mercy with these two easy steps and invite others to do the same.  We pray for the His mercy to be experienced by all people.
